Description
Postponed till Thursday, when the Irish Colleges Bill will be in Committee. Banking (Scotland) Bill passed. To be sent to the Lords. Young less desponding as to the division on this question [relating to New Zealand] which stands for tomorrow. Third Reading of the Irish Banking Bill, and passed. To be sent to the Lords. Daniel O'Connell (and others) came to the House of Commons and opposed the bill, but in a very subdued tone compared with his menaces in Ireland. Mr Roebuck complained that Somers had sent him a challenge for words spoken in the House last Friday. Somers made a full apology.
