Description
Peel's hope that Queen Victoria's absence has been a happy one. Tells Her Majesty what happened in the meantime. Fine prospect for harvest. Price of provisions may be affected. ) Letters between Lord Melbourne and Peel because of Melbourne's handsome speech at Fishmonger's Hall. Assembly at Enniskillen on 12 August. Discountenanced by leading proprietors of the North. Appointment of McKenna as Assistant Secretary in Ireland has had an excellent effect, reassuring the Roman Catholics of the wish of Government to establish friendly relations. Sir Martin Shee sends Peel the Address from the members, deprecating his retirement from the Presidency of the Royal Academy. Peel thinks he will withdraw his resignation.
