Description
Navy Estimates: vote for 40,000 Seamen and Marines. Palmerston unexpectedly opened a discussion on the Government's Foreign Policy, particularly in reference to Right of Search, and the Commission of which the Duc de Broglie and Dr Lushington are members. Peel replied. Shiel's motion relating to the opening of Mazzini's letters [at the Post Office]. The motion says the information so gained was given to a Foreign Power.
