TitleLetter from Sir Robert Peel to Queen Victoria
Date24 April 1846
WriterPeel, Robert, Sir, 2nd Baronet
AddresseeVictoria, Queen
DescriptionPeel gratified at Queen Victoria's approval of what he said at Mansion House in proposing French King's health. Peel had not asked Queen Victoria's pleasure on a Royal Message that provision should be made for heirs male of Viscount Hardinge and Lord Gough, because he understood that the East India Company contemplated a liberal grant, namely, £5,000 a year for life to Hardinge and £2,000 a year to Gough. Parliament can consider when this is done. Peel's proposals for heirs male. Interesting letter of a visit to Lahore (India).
