Description
Russell submits a letter from the Duke of Grafton as a specimen of the singular and retired habits of some of the Peers. Navigation Bill: Reports in the Committee conflicting. The Parliamentary Oaths Bill went through Committee with little trouble. Russell concludes that Queen Victoria agrees to his proposal of Sir David Dundas as Judge Advocate and Mr Hayter as Secretary to the Treasury. He believes Mr Hayter will be a great acquisition to the Treasury. Russell congratulates Queen Victoria: 'The unshaken Throne of this country remains after a year of storms, conspicuous to the world'.
