Title
Letter from Queen Victoria to Lord John Russell
Date
11 November 1851
Writer
Victoria, Queen
Addressee
Russell, John, Lord
Description
Queen Victoria returns the dispatch. She does not like its ironical tone, and thinks it not becoming for a public dispatch from the English Secretary for Foreign Affairs, while dealing with the absurdity of the conduct of the Parma officials. The tone of the dispatch would fail in its purpose, and irritate, and prevent ready compliance with our demand.
