TitleLetter from Lord John Russell to Queen Victoria
Date1 December 1851
WriterRussell, John, Lord
AddresseeVictoria, Queen
DescriptionLord Clarendon's letter very satisfactory [in connection with the State of Ireland]. Russell thinks Queen Victoria may have seen the letter in the "Times" from Prince Paul Esterhazy. It agrees with Russell's opinion respecting the affairs of Hungary. Esterhazy naturally endeavours to exculpate himself. He would have done better not to have formed part of the Ministry. A shrewd man, and averse to extreme courses.
