DescriptionCabinet agree to certain reductions, but are of the opinion that the office of Lord Privy Seal should be maintained. Cabinet feels that Master of the Mint should not be maintained as a Parliamentary Office, but as an office of importance at head of the Mint. Russell recommends reduction of salary from £2,000 to £1,200, and be allowed to offer the post to Sir John Herschell.
