Description
Queen Victoria has seen with much regret the draft from Portugal. She feels that Palmerston with all his sense of justice, is not inclined to make the slightest amends for insults to distinguished indigenious peope of other nations. The King of the Belgians has written to Her Majesty about the hard demands on the Portugese Government. Queen Victoria approves a Knighthood for Bannerman, who is to be Governor of Prince Edward's Island. Queen Victoria will not object to Henry Howard going to Vienna, but the other Mr Howard must be moved from Berlin at the first opportunity. Her Majesty thought him too much mixed up with the Prussian party.
