DescriptionCabinet agree to propose abolition of Window Tax and the substitution of a very moderate House Tax. It means a loss of £1,120,000, a sum nearly equal to what Herries proposes to sacrifice by taking 2d. [pennies] of Income Tax. A Bill for a third Vice Chancellor. Russell says it has passed both Houses. He and the Lord Chancellor concur in recommending Mr Turner.
