Description | Lady Alexandra Russell wishes to succeed Lady Caroline Barrington, as Woman of the Bedchamber. Russell does not wish to interfere, and merely mentions to Queen Victoria. The death of Lord Moncrieff, the Lord Advocate. Russell says the appointment of a successor can take place at once. He presumes Queen Victoria will approve that Mr Moncrieff, Solicitor General, should succeed. In that case he should be a Privy Councillor. Russell acknowledges Queen Victoria's approval of the Lord Advocate and Mr Macneill as [Scotch] Judges. The latter has expressed his willingness. |
