9 April 1851

Description
Commons assented to a Committee to consider the law of Church Rates, on motion of Trelawny. Russell asks for a later date for the Privy Council, because the Master of the Rolls and new Vice-Chancellor cannot attend on Tuesday. Graham alarmed at the prospect of Disraeli's motion on Friday. Sir Henry Barron, a malcontent Irishman, moved for a Committee of whole House on the State of Ireland. Members of Carlton Club summoned to support it. Defeated by 9. Lord Ashley asked leave for a bill on Model Lodging Houses for the Working Classes. Agreed.
