Ecclesiastical Titles Assumption Bill: long discussion on the Speaker leaving the Chair. Proposal to adjourn lost, but adjournment to Thursday, later. Russell presumes Queen Victoria will not object to Mr Dalrymple [heir to the Earl of Stair] as Lieutenant of Wigton. He suggests Mr Duff for Elgin, succeeding his father.
