DescriptionSir J. Pakington forwards despatches from the Cape Frontier War. Nothing important has occurred. The despatches contain General Cathcart's plans and intentions. Sir J. Pakington recommends Sir Gaspard Le Marchant, Governor of Newfoundland, as Governor of Nova Scotia, vacant through the death of Sir John Harvey. Sir J. Pakington expresses surprise and regret that the announcement has already appeared in newspapers. He has no knowledge as to how this became known.
