DescriptionDerby has received a letter from Sir John Pakington (Colonial Secretary) recommending the establishment of a new Episcopal See at Sierra Leone. The Archbishop of Canterbury and Bishop of London warmly concur. Derby deals with the matter fully as to ways and means, and urges Queen Victoria's approval; since religion there is at a low ebb.
