DescriptionBaron Marochetti's statue of King Richard, Coeur de Lion, to be erected as an experiment, but to be removed before Easter. The proposal to erect Sir Robert Peel's statue on the site now occupied by that of King Richard. Erection of it there was only experimental and general opinion is that the site is not suitable. Lord Aberdeen has communicated with Sir William Molesworth on the subject of the intended works at Hampton Court.
