Description
Queen Victoria's satisfaction at the Government's success in defeating the motion for postponing consideration of the (Newspaper) Stamp Act. Her Majesty on Lord Elgin's and Lord Seymour's refusal of the Duchy of Lancaster and the probable reason. The difficulty of filling it likely to increase. Lord Palmerston urged to lose no time in filling this, Vice-Presidency of the Board of Trade and the Under Secretaryship for the Colonies.
