Description
The following names proposed by Lord Palmerston for membership of the Commission on the National Gallery: Sir John Watson Gordon, Thomas Baring and Michael Faraday. Cabinet's view as to the desirability of sending one or two regiments out to Cape Colony [South Africa], in the event of danger from attacks by local people. Suggestion as to the despatch of German battalions intended as Colonists.
