Description
Action decided by Cabinet as to the fitness of transports to carry troops in India. Suggestion to be made to the Governor of the Cape (Mr Vernon Smith) regarding sending trained horses of Cape Mounted Rifles to India and finding fresh ones for them. Lord Palmerston's suggestion as to granting Sir Hesketh Fleetwood a new patent for baronetcy, to ensure its succession to his son, born out of wedlock. Precedents extant. Duke of Marlborough's pleasure at his appointment as Lord Lieutenant for Oxfordshire.
