Description | Queen Victoria wishes Lord John Russell to let her have the Speech before it is finally settled, as it always used to be sent to her to approve. If appropriate, she hopes it will make a friendly allusion to France and England's good relations with her. The Queen refers to her forthcoming visit to Guernsey, and hopes for a fine passage back. She regrets the shortness of the time in the area [she writes from the 'Victoria annd Albert' at Plymouth], as they would have liked to visit Endsleigh. They start tomorrow afternoon, and expect to reach Osborne on Monday evening. They visited Cotehele yesterday, and Prince Albert has gone to Dartmoor Forest today. |
