Date25 August 1846
WriterVictoria, Queen
AddresseeRussell, John, Lord
DescriptionQueen Victoria approves the appointment of Mr. Nott to the living of Barton. Queen Victoria expresses pleasure at her visit to Guernsey and the reception she received: the island is beautiful and prosperous, and [General] Napier gets on well with the people. No English Sovereign had visited Guerney since King John. Queen Victoria considers the affair of the Spanish Marriages to be as intricate as ever, although what has been done is perhaps best. The Queen approves the Speech from the Throne.
