DescriptionQueen Victoria intends to allow Sir Henry Wheatley to retire from her service [as Keeper of the Privy Purse, etc. ] and to appoint Mr. [George] Anson in his place, who, because of Wheatley's ill-health and age, has been doing much of the work for some years already. It will be an advantage for her and Prince Albert's private affairs to be carried out by the same person.
