DescriptionQueen Victoria states that she had informed Sir Robert Peel that Lord John Russell would form a Government and she would take leave of Peel on the following day. She was anxious that Russell should advise his brother, the Duke of Bedford, that she wished him to accept the position of Master of the Horse, if only for a time, athough Russell had not yet had time to think about the Household. The Queen would like to know Russell's proposals for the Cabinet.
