TitleLetter from Queen Victoria to Lord John Russell
Date28 April 1847
WriterVictoria, Queen
AddresseeRussell, John, Lord
DescriptionQueen Victoria is delighted to hear of the intended communication to be sent to Sir Hamilton Seymour regarding Portugal. [Carl Andeas] Dietz is a very honest man, and as Privy Purse and tutor to the young Portuguese Princes was very valuable, but as a politician he has done great mischief. It gives the Queen great pleasures to approve the increase in soldiers' pensions.
