Victoria, Queen
Addressee
Russell, John, Lord
Description
As so much stress is laid on Colonel [William] Wylde's opinion (that it would be difficult to make the Junta accept the terms as they are), Queen Victoria notes that this opinion was given on 14 April, while on the 19th Wylde wrote that he had just seen a letter from Sa da Bandeira expressing his opinion and fear that the Queen's advisers would not allow her to accept the offered terms, which Wylde felt inferred that the terms would not be refused by Sa da Bandeira's party.
