Victoria, Queen
Addressee
Russell, John, Lord
Description
The excellent news from Portugal is a great happiness 'to us all'. However, Queen Victoria wishes that she could feel easier for the future in that country, as all she has heard makes her feel increasingly certain that 'they' [the King and Queen of Portugal?] must receive counsel from England as they cannot get on by themselves. The Queen hopes that Russell will give serious attention to Spanish affairs, about which something must be done.
