Queen Victoria approves payment from the Civil List of a pension of £300 to Father Mathew, £200 to the family of the late Dr. [Thomas] Chalmers, £100 to the children of the late Thomas Hood and £200 to Leigh Hunt. The Queen thinks that the author, Mr. Sheridan Knowles, should also have a pension.
