Addressee
Russell, John, Lord
Description
Queen Victoria and Prince Albert have read with much interest Lord John Russell's observations on the Elections in England and Ireland. They have been considering Russell's suggestion of a three days' visit to Ireland, but the Queen feels it would be too problematic this year, in addition to which Lady Clarendon's confinement would make it better to postpone the visit to another year. They are all horrified by the murder of the Duchesse de Praslin: coming after what has lately happened in France, this will have a very bad effect.
