Queen Victoria was concerned at the bad news from Liverpool regarding the financial crisis, and is anxious to know what passed with the deputation which went up to Lord John yesterday. She feels sorry for Lord John in the midst of so many difficulties and anxieties, which make his position more than usually arduous.
