TitleLetter from Queen Victoria to Lord John Russell
Date31 May 1848
WriterVictoria, Queen
AddresseeRussell, John, Lord
DescriptionThe Queen thinks that Lady John Russell may give her party on the 7th. She is sorry (but not surprised) to see the disposition to re-commence the Chartist meetings. Does not Lord John Russell think some of the speeches outrageously violent and seditious? Could nothing be done to take up some of these people? The constant watching which is necessary is very tiresome. All has ended quietly tonight.
