Title
Letter from Queen Victoria to Lord John Russell
Date
13 July 1848
Writer
Victoria, Queen
Addressee
Russell, John, Lord
Description
The Queen sends another letter from Col. Phipps as she knows Lord John will like to know that everything passed off well; in these times, everything of this kind is important. Respecting Ireland and Scotland, nothing need be said at present. Queen Victoria agrees with Lord John as to the King and Queen [of the French] coming to Osborne; better for them not to do so in the present uncertain state of affairs. The Duchesse de Nemours says the King never thought of doing anything which might lead to observation.
