TitleLetter from Queen Victoria to Lord John Russell
Date24 November 1848
WriterVictoria, Queen
AddresseeRussell, John, Lord
DescriptionThe hopeless state of Lord Melbourne grieves both Queen Victoria and Prince Albert very much; the Queen only heard of his illness last week at the Priory [Bentley Priory]. She has nothing particular to say to Lord Clarendon as she saw him on Thursday at the Priory, so does not need to see him before he returns to Ireland. Presumably Lord John has seen Baron Stockmar by this time.
