Miss Eden expresses her gratitude for Queen Victoria's appreciation of her brother [Lord Auckland]. She recalls her brother's affection and respect for the Queen, and his referring to the Queen's appointments to the Royal yacht, which were made without partiality. Miss Eden refers to her grief and great affection for and closeness to her brother.
