Title
Letter from Queen Victoria to Lord John Russell
Date
6 August 1849
Writer
Victoria, Queen
Addressee
Russell, John, Lord
Description
The Queen sends some despatches which were sent to her, and has nothing to comment on them except upon the way in which they have been sent, which is contrary to the new arrangement that they should be sent for approval through Lord John. The Queen does not wish for her absence to make any difference in this respect, and wants the new arrangement to be strictly adhered to.
Lord John will hear from Lord George Grey how admirably everything has gone off, and the Queen and Prince are much pleased with Ireland. They had some very rough weather at sea.
