Description
Queen Victoria regrets the last drafts to Portugal. She much dislikes these constant claims. Croft's claims had been given up as unfit; and Henry Temple, 3rd Viscount Palmerston, has taken them up again. Palmerston, with all his strong sense of justice, not inclined to make the slightest amends for insults offered to distinguished indigenous individuals of other nations. King Leopold (of the Belgians) has written about these hard demands on Portugal. Queen Victoria approves of a Knighthood for Mr. Bannerman. Queen Victoria has no objection to Harry Howard going to Vienna; but she wishes the other Howard to be removed from Berlin.
