Description
Queen Victoria is shocked to hear of the death of Sir Alexander Duff. The Queen approves of the vacant ribbon of the order of St. Patrick for Lord Gosford (Archibald Acheson, 3rd Earl of Gosford). With regard to the Papal Aggression, the case of Miss Talbot is a very opportune event for the passing of the Ecclesiastical Titles Bill. Queen Victoria approves the succession of the Solicitor General (Alexander Cockburn) to be Attorney General. The Queen approves the appointment of Mr. William Page Wood as Solicitor General as a very good appointment. The Queen thinks highly of his debating powers.
