Queen Victoria approves of Rev. Arthur Stanley as a Canonry for Canterbury. The Queen agrees with Lord John Russell that the original purpose of rewarding valour in the Field shoud not be overlooked in conferring the Order of the Garter or the Order of the Thistle. Queen Victoria approves of the Green Ribbon [Order of the Thistle] for Alexander Fraser, Lord Saltoun. The Queen approves of the appointment of Sir James Graham and Mr. Joseph Henley as members of the Chancery Commission. Queen Victoria approves of the appointment of Keeper of the Privy Seal of Scotland for Fox Maule.
