DescriptionQueen Victoria sanctions Lord John Russell's revelations to the Commons. Her surprise at Russell's first recommending the adoption of the Austrian scheme to the Cabinet, and then acquiescing in their decision not to accept it. Queen Victoria trusts that Russell will be able to remove the bad impression his speech made in the Commons, by future explanations. Queen Victoria is relieved at Russell giving way to the opinion of the Cabinet. He deserves praise rather than abuse.
