TitleLetter from Queen Victoria to Lord John Russell
Date28 October 1859
WriterVictoria, Queen
AddresseeRussell, John, Lord
DescriptionQueen Victoria does not think it would be appropriate to send the young Grand Duke of Tuscany's letter back. It appears to be an autograph letter, not an official one accompanied by a copy. The Queen received the young Prince at Windsor two years ago, so to refuse to receive the letter would be an unreasonable personal affront. The Queen received the Duchess of Parma's letter, and could not forbid the young Grand Duke to write to her.
