Description | The Queen approves the drafts, but points out an important omission: that no mention is made of the evacuation of Northern Italy by the occupying French Army. If the principle of non-interference obliges the withdrawal of 5,000 French soldiers from Rome, it must apply even more so to the 60,000 soldiers in Lombardy. While this point may be understood, it is too important for it not to be specially referenced. The Queen would like to have copies of the final drafts. |
