Description | A Memorandum enclosed to Lord John Russell giving Queen Victoria's view of the Cabinet proposal. The Memorandum states Queen Victoria's desire to obtain the support of the Powers in Turkish affairs, while avoiding the conference on Savoy. It includes the Queen's comments on the result of the Cabinet's timidity as to calling a conference regarding Switzerland, the latter's action, the present French policy, Great Britain's position, the suggested union with German Powers and the Probability of Russia's acceding to it. |
