Queen Victoria expresses her great feelings of loss for Prince Albert, the Prince Consort, and the consequent difficulties of living at Balmoral because of the many reminders of him. She quotes an extract of Tennyson. She praises her 'very dear' son-in-law [the Crown Prince of Prussia] and refers to his success at the Academy dinner.
