DescriptionQueen Victoria approves the appointment of Mr. Scarlett [the Hon. Peter Campbell Scarlett] to Greece. She refers again to her grief, mentioning a poem which greatly moved her. The Queen is glad Lord Russell understands her views with relation to the Prince of Orange. She suggests England should have no future dealings with the French in view of their disgraceful conduct 'everywhere'. She sends Lord Russell a recent photograph of herself taken by Prince Alfred.
