| Description | Queen Victoria asks Lord Russell to return a confidential letter about Lord Palmerston, written to him by the Prince Consort in 1850. She is taking steps to secure the future safety of all such papers, and is writing directions in case of her death. She therefore hopes that Lord Russell has taken similar care, and requests that arrangements be made, on his death, for the return to her of hers and the Prince Consort's letters to him. |
