DescriptionQueen Victoria approves of the appointments of Earl de Grey and Ripon as Sectretary of State for India, Lord Hartington as Secretary of State for War, William Monsell as Vice-President of the Board of Trade, Lord Dufferin as Under-Secretary of State for War and James Stansfield as Under-Secretary of State for India, the latter of which she fears will annoy the Emperor of the French. The Queen regrets that Sir Charles Wood can't remain in the Cabinet due to ill health and hopes of he will be able to return to the Government at a later time. Duplicate of VIC/MAIN/A/34/49.
