DescriptionLetter from Lord John Russell to Queen Victoria reporting that [Sir George] Grey had received intelligence that a number of people were gathering at Finsbury Square and making their way to the West End. In response Grey gave directions for park gates to be shut and for means to be taken to secure [Westminster] Palace. Russell reports that the group were stopped at Trafalgar Square.
