Description'Fifth Report of the Commissioners on the Fine Arts, with appendix. Presented to both Houses of Parliament by Command of Her Majesty', reporting that the exhibition of fresco-painting has taken place and the decision has been made to proceed with that particular style. William Dyce will complete the first fresco-painting of 'The Baptism of Ethelbert'. The commissioners also propose that the Upper Waiting Hall be decorated with frescoes and they suggest that they be completed by Charles West Cope, John Callcott Horsley, John Rogers Herbert, Joseph Severn and John Tenniel. An oil-painting competition has been announced and will take place in June 1847.
