DescriptionCopy letter from Prince Albert to Sir Charles Wood asking that he talk to Sir Robert Peel about the question of Landseer's paintings and stating that he believes the Government owes the House of Commons 'an explanation on the real state of the case'. He refutes claims that the lighting in the Peers' Refreshment Rooms is too poor for the display of artwork and that the public would be unable to view the room. He also states that it is the only room in which deer and game can be portrayed and that they are a particular forte of Landseer.
