Description
Letter from Sir Charles Eastlake to Prince Albert reporting the refusal of the Chancellor of the Exchequer to authorise more than £4,000 for decorative works at the Palace of Westminster and therefore that a reduction of their estimate is necessary. He reports that a sum of £500 is ready for payment to Charles Cope once he has finished the Peers' Corridor however there is difficulty in finding £450 for Mr Ward, who has requested early payment for his finished 'Sleep of Argyll'.
