Description
Copy letter from James Foley to Sir Charles Eastlake reporting that an exhibition of some of the works of the late John Cross had been arranged to be shown in the rooms of the Society of Arts, Adelphi. He states that the aim of the exhibition was to raise finds to purchase one or more of the works from his widow. He asks whether the Fine Arts Commission would lend the painting 'The Clemency of Cour de Lion' for the exhibition.
